The government of Andhra Pradesh has launched a new scheme termed as “Stree Shakti Scheme Andhra Pradesh” under the chairmanship of Mr Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh launched this scheme at Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) in Vijayawada on Friday. The scheme was announced on 11th August 2025 and launched on 15th August 2025.
Under this scheme government provides free bus services to all the female citizens of Andhra Pradesh. The government launched this scheme on a special occasion known as Independence Day to boost women’s economic independence and dignity. The “Stree Shakti Scheme Andhra Pradesh” was launched by the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Under this scheme government provide free bus services to all the female citizens of Andhra Pardesh so all the female citizens can travel anywhere in Andhra Pradesh according to their needs like for education, work, business or visiting family through this scheme female citizens can save their money of travelling expenses, women’s doesn’t pay single rupee for travelling with the help of this scheme.
There are a total of 2.62 crore women in the state who can avail the benefits of this scheme. The total budget of this scheme is ₹1,942 crore per annum. The government provides 1,050 electric buses in 11 cities under the PM-ebus Sewa Scheme. Government-issued zero-fare tickets for this scheme. In this scheme, safety will also be taken care of, and all buses will be tracked using GPS tracking. This scheme for women is a ‘Super Six’ promise provided by Naidu in the run-up to the 2024 poll.
How to Apply Stree Shakti Scheme Andhra Pradesh
The applicant doesn’t have any need to apply for this scheme. If the applicant qualifies for all the eligibility terms and conditions under the scheme, then the applicant can avail the benefits of this scheme. While travelling in the same buses for free travel, the applicant only shows their ID Card and must be a domicile resident of the state.

The main objective of the Stree Shakti free travel scheme is to provide free bus services to all the female citizens of Andhra Pradesh.
