Recently, the government of Andhra Pradesh has launched the Digi Lakshmi Scheme 2025, on 30th June 2025, which aims to provide the digital tool, technology, and knowledge about digital worlds to empower the women of the state. When we think about the “Digi-lakshmi,” we get to know that the “Digi” of the name means digital or using technology like computers and smartphones, and the “Lakshmi” is the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
So, a “Digi Lakhsmi Scheme” would be a program to help women earn money and become financially independent using digital technology. Under the significant scheme, the government decided to establish more than 9,000 Common Service Centres (CSCs). Through this scheme, in addition to providing employment opportunities to educated women in Local urban areas, digital service centres will be set up to provide basic digital services to the people at their homes.
This scheme will provide service to the people at their doorsteps without the intervention of intermediaries. In the first phase of the scheme, the government authorities will establish more than 10,000 service centres across the state in the urban areas, and for every 250 houses, there is a 1 Common Service Centre. The women of the state can setup the service centres near their homes and the loan of INR 2lakh rupees will be provided to the literate women of state to setup the service centres by banks through the MEPMA. Services like Aadhaar update, PAN card application, bank loans, deposits, insurance, pension, ration card, health card, and farmers’ insurance will be available in this.
