The Government of Andhra Pradesh began to distribute of “AP Smart Ration Card” to the ration card holders in the state. The government begins the distribution of smart ration cards from 25th August 2025. This government provides a smart ration card to the residents to give better citizen services by linking with the ration card, so all the residents of Andhra Pradesh can avail the benefits of different social welfare schemes and services in the state.
Mr. Nadendla Manohar declared that smart ration cards will be distributed free of cost to 1.45 crore beneficiaries across the state from August 25th to 31st. The government announced that the distribution will take place by constituency-level events led by MLAs, district-level programs by Ministers, and State-wide events. All the programs are run under the leadership of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.

What is AP Smart Ration Card?
AP Smart Ration Card is an official document released by the government of Andhra Pradesh. Under this document, all the eligible residents received food security from the government. AP Smart Ration Card is an initiative to implement a transparent system supported by technology. By offering these digital cards government aims to provide better citizen services by linking with the ration card and allowing residents to receive different social welfare schemes and services in the state. Under this, all the new ration card candidates will also get the Smart ration card on the same day.
There are 1,45,97,486 active ration cards in the state as of 7th August 2025, as per the official portal, and 29,795 fair shops across the state where rations are distributed to the eligible people. These cards will be issued to the people who complete their e-KYC. People who haven’t completed their e-KYC yet then they complete their e-KYC by visiting the Meeseva Center and avail the benefits of this Smart Ration Card.

- First of all, applicants need to visit the official website of AP Meeseva at ap.meeseva.gov.in.
- After visiting the website, applicants need to search for “Issue For New Ration Card“.
- Now a new page will appear on the applicant’s desktop, the applicant needs to click on the option called “Apply For Ration Card” and create their account using the Aadhaar Number, & Mobile Number.
- After that applicant needs to enter all the details that are asked for in the AP Ration Card application form and upload all the necessary documents.

The state government decided to launch a dedicated facility to download the PDF copy of the ration card for digital use after the distribution is completed successfully.
