The “Thayumananvar Scheme” is a social welfare scheme launched by the government of Tamil Nadu under the chairmanship of M.K. Stalin. The scheme started on 12th August 2025. Under this scheme government aims to provide ration products at the doorstep of eligible beneficiaries’ houses. The government launched this scheme for those people whose age is above 70 years and those who are disabled because they are struggling with many problems by visiting the fair shops to receive ration items.
So the Tamil Nadu Government decided to launch this scheme for all the people whose age is above 70 years and those who are disabled. Through this scheme, the beneficiaries will not have to bring the ration themselves; rather, the government itself will deliver the ration products to their homes through vehicles. All the essential food commodities from ration shops would be delivered at the doorsteps of the eligible people of Tamil Nadu on the second Saturday and Sunday of every month.
